15-Second Video Editing Class
As part of the 15-Second Video Editing class I took in the Fall of 2024, we teamed up with the Gratiot County Hope House, a year-round homeless shelter in St. Louis, Michigan, to develop a short-form video campaign for their social media. The class split into six groups, each focusing on a different aspect of storytelling and engagement in their 4-6 videos.
I, along with Charly Sommers and Aidan Harris, was part of the "Shopping Theme" group. Our goal was to educate the Hope House's audience about the struggles many face in meeting basic needs in a playful but grounded way, showing the reality of everyday decisions people have to make. Our hope was to increase awareness of how expensive basic necessities are for those on a low income and hopefully encourage more donations to the Hope House.
Together, Charly, Aidan, and I created six videos for the Hope House. Below are the two videos that I put together in Adobe Premiere Pro, as posted by the Hope House on their Facebook page.
